‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ படத்தின் வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து, அதே படக் குழு மீண்டும் இணையும் புதிய திரைப்படம் ‘தி லாஸ்ட் கேஸ்’. இயக்குநர் பாலாஜி இயக்கத்தில் உருவாகும் இந்தப் படத்தின் தொடக்க விழா சென்னையில் உள்ள பிரசாத் லேப் பிள்ளையார் கோவிலில் நடைபெற்றது.

ட்ரீம் 7 சினிமாஸ் நிறுவனம் தயாரிக்கும் இந்தப் படத்தில் சித்து கதாநாயகனாகவும், தர்ஷிகா கதாநாயகியாகவும் நடிக்கின்றனர். இவர்களுடன் ஜெயக்குமார் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடிக்கின்றனர்.

முந்தைய படத்தைப் போலவே இதுவும் குற்றம் மற்றும் புலனாய்வை மையமாகக் கொண்ட கதையாக உருவாகிறது. எனினும், ‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ படத்தின் சாயல் இதில் இருக்காது என்றும், கதை சொல்லும் விதம் முதல் கதாபாத்திரங்களின் உணர்வுகள் வரை முற்றிலும் புதிய அனுபவத்தை வழங்கும் வகையில் படம் உருவாகும் என்றும் இயக்குநர் பாலாஜி தெரிவித்தார்.

படத்தின் தொடக்க விழாவில் பேசிய அவர், “‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ படத்திற்கு திரையரங்குகளிலும், பின்னர் ஓடிடி வெளியீட்டிலும் நல்ல வரவேற்பு கிடைத்தது. அந்த வெற்றியின் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் எங்கள் அடுத்த படைப்பான ‘தி லாஸ்ட் கேஸ்’ படத்தைத் தொடங்கியுள்ளோம்,” என்றார்.

மேலும், மலைப்பகுதியை பின்னணியாகக் கொண்ட குற்றப் புலனாய்வு கதையாக இருந்தாலும், இயற்கை மற்றும் நிலவியல் சார்ந்த காட்சிகள் இந்தப் படத்திற்கு தனித்துவமான தோற்றத்தை வழங்கும் என்று அவர் கூறினார்.

“ஒவ்வொரு குற்றமும் ஏதோ ஒரு தடயத்தை விட்டுச் செல்லும்” என்ற கருத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் இந்தப் படம், உண்மைச் சம்பவங்களின் பின்னணியையும் கொண்டிருப்பதாக இயக்குநர் பாலாஜி குறிப்பிட்டார். கதையின் மற்ற அம்சங்கள் குறித்த தகவல்கள் அடுத்தடுத்த கட்டங்களில் வெளியிடப்படும் என்றும் தெரிவித்தார்.

நிகழ்ச்சியில் பேசிய நடிகர் சித்து, ‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ தனது திரைப்பயணத்தில் முக்கியமான திருப்புமுனையாக அமைந்ததாகக் கூறினார். “அந்தப் படத்தில் நான் நடித்த ‘பாரி’ கதாபாத்திரம் மக்களிடையே எனக்கு ஒரு தனி அடையாளத்தை உருவாக்கியது. அதன்பிறகு பல இடங்களில் என்னை ‘பாரி’ என்றே அழைத்தனர். அந்த அன்பும் அங்கீகாரமும் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியை அளித்தது. அதேபோல் ‘தி லாஸ்ட் கேஸ்’ படமும் நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெறும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை உள்ளது,” என்றார்.

கதாநாயகி தர்ஷிகா பேசுகையில், “‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ படத்தின் நிகழ்வுகள் நேற்றுதான் நடந்தது போல் இருக்கிறது. அதற்குள் அந்தப் படம் வெற்றி பெற்று, அடுத்த படத்தையும் தொடங்கிவிட்டோம். இந்தப் படத்தில் எனக்கு முந்தைய படத்தை விட வித்தியாசமான மற்றும் சவாலான கதாபாத்திரம் கிடைத்துள்ளது,” என்று மகிழ்ச்சி தெரிவித்தார்.

‘தி டார்க் ஹெவன்’ படத்தில் பணியாற்றிய ஒளிப்பதிவாளர், இசையமைப்பாளர் உள்ளிட்ட தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்களும் இந்தப் புதிய படத்தில் மீண்டும் இணைந்துள்ளனர்.

தொடக்க விழாவில் நடிகர் ஜெயக்குமார், தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் கோபால் மற்றும் சரண், இசையமைப்பாளர் சக்தி பாலாஜி உள்ளிட்ட படக்குழுவினர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

‘The Dark Heaven’ Team Reunites for New Crime Thriller ‘The Last Case’

Following the success of The Dark Heaven, director Balaji is set to begin his next cinematic venture, The Last Case. The film brings together much of the successful team from the previous project, with Siddu and Darshika returning in the lead roles.

Produced by Dream 7 Cinemas, The Last Case was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony at the Prasad Lab Pillaiyar Temple in Chennai, in the presence of members of the media and the film’s cast and crew.

Actor Jayakumar, who was part of The Dark Heaven, will also play an important role in the new film. Several new actors are expected to join the cast, while key technicians from the previous film, including the cinematographer and music composer, will continue their association with director Balaji.

Speaking at the launch event, director Balaji said that the overwhelming response to The Dark Heaven, both in theatres and following its OTT release, had encouraged the team to embark on their next project.

“The Last Case will also be a crime thriller, but it will be completely different from our previous film,” he said. “The story is set against a mountainous backdrop and revolves around a crime investigation. However, the geographical setting and the way the story unfolds will give the film a distinctive identity.”

The director also hinted that the film’s narrative is inspired by the idea that every crime leaves behind a clue. He revealed that the story has elements connected to real-life incidents, with more details about the project set to be announced in the coming months.

Balaji further explained that while The Dark Heaven had a different storytelling style and certain fantasy elements, The Last Case will focus more deeply on the emotions of its characters.

Actor Siddu, speaking at the event, described The Dark Heaven as a major turning point in his career.

“Although I have appeared in television serials and films, The Dark Heaven gave me a new identity as an actor. The character of Pari became especially popular, and people began recognising me by that name. I am grateful to director Balaji for giving me this opportunity, and I hope The Last Case will also become a memorable success,” he said.

Actress Darshika expressed her excitement about reuniting with the team so soon after the success of their previous film.

“It feels like we were just attending the promotional events of The Dark Heaven, and now we have already started our next film. I am very happy to be part of this project, and my character in The Last Case will be quite different from the role I played previously,” she said.

The launch event was attended by actor Jayakumar, producers Gopal and Saran, music composer Sakthi Balaji, and other members of the film’s team.

While The Dark Heaven established a successful collaboration between the director and his cast, The Last Case promises to take the team in a fresh direction, offering audiences a new crime thriller with a distinct narrative and emotional depth.
