அபோகலிப்ஸுக்குப் பிறகு உருவான புதிய உலகம்… பா.இரஞ்சித்தின் ‘வேட்டுவம்’ காட்டும் விஷயம் இதுதான்!
அபோகலிப்ஸ். அழிந்துபோன உலகம். அதிகாரத்துக்கான போட்டி. வெவ்வேறு குழுக்களுக்கு இடையேயான மோதல்.
இவற்றை மையமாக வைத்து ஒரு தமிழ் திரைப்படம் உருவாகிறது என்றாலே, அதன் பின்னணியில் என்ன மாதிரியான உலகம் இருக்கப் போகிறது என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு இயல்பாகவே உருவாகும்.

An apocalyptic world, rival factions, power struggles and intense action — Pa. Ranjith’s upcoming film Vettuvam appears to be taking Tamil cinema into a completely new cinematic territory.
While the film’s complete storyline is still under wraps, the recently released ‘World of Vettuvam’ video offers a glimpse into the universe created by the filmmaker. Rather than revealing the plot, the video introduces the world in which the story unfolds, leaving audiences curious about what lies beneath its mysterious setting.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, Vettuvam is being produced by his Neelam Productions in association with Learn and Teach Production.
The film is set against an apocalyptic backdrop and revolves around conflicts and rivalries between different groups. Their struggle for power and survival leads to a series of unexpected events, forming the core of this action-driven world.
What makes Vettuvam particularly intriguing is the effort that has gone into creating its distinct visual universe. The film promises large-scale action sequences and an unconventional setting that appears to be significantly different from the worlds explored by Ranjith in his earlier films.
The action choreography is another major highlight. The fight sequences have been designed using elements of traditional martial arts, including Adimurai and Malakham. The actors underwent dedicated martial arts training as part of the preparation for the film, with the intention of bringing a greater sense of realism and physicality to the action.
The film features an ensemble cast comprising Arya, Dinesh, Shabeer, Sobhita Dhulipala and Kalaiyarasan, among others.
The multilingual approach of Vettuvam has also added to its pan-Indian appeal. The ‘World of Vettuvam’ video has been released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Pa. Ranjith has lent his voice to the Tamil version, while Pankaj Tripathi has voiced the Hindi version, Rana Daggubati the Telugu version, Soubin Shahir the Malayalam version and Kiccha Sudeep the Kannada version.
This multilingual presentation gives audiences across different regions an entry point into the world of Vettuvam, even before the film itself arrives in theatres.
The technical crew includes Art Director S.S. Moorthy, Cinematographer Rupesh Shahji, Editor Selva R.K., Music Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar and Stunt Director Dilip Subbarayan.
With its post-apocalyptic setting, elaborate world-building and martial-arts-based action, Vettuvam is shaping up as a different kind of commercial action film from Pa. Ranjith.
