இயக்குநர் சிகரம் கே.பாலசந்தரின் மறைவுக்கு தென்னிந்திய திரைப்பட வர்த்தக சபை ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கலை தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது.

Padmasri K.Balachander, veteran Film Director – Producer was the Former President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce in 1990, South Indian Film Directors Association and  Film Employees Federation of South India, and  also recipient of covenant Dadasaheb Phalke Award, who passed away on 23rd December  in Chennai, is a irrecoverable loss to the Film industry.

Theatre author cum Screenplay Writer, Dialogue writer and Film maker of great repute Sri  K.Balachander, popularly known as KB Sir had the distinction of enriching Tamil cinema with some memorable creations and helping in securing for the Tamil film industry a permanent and respected place on the Indian film map. He had directed over 100 films in all major Indian languages in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. He had perhaps the unique honour of developing the Tamil cinema as an instrument of social change.

Sri Balachander had the knack of spotting true talent when he sees one. He was responsible for bringing  85 new faces in Southern film industry including Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Jayaprada, Sri Devi, Sujatha, Saritha, Vivek, Prakashraj and others.

On hearing the news of his demise on behalf of the SIFCC Sri Katragadda Prasad and Sri T.AArulpathy, Hon.Secretaries,Sri Ravi Kottarakara, President, Film Federation of India, Sri L.Suresh, President, South Indian Film Exporters Association and  office bearers,  Executive Committee members and members of  Film Chamber went to the residence of Sri K.Balachander and placed a wreath and paid last respect to the departed soul.
