ஒரு திரைப்படம் வெளியாகும் முன்பே அது பற்றிய பேச்சுக்கள் ரசிகர்களிடம் பெரும் எதிர்பார்ப்பை உருவாக்குவது அரிது.
ஆனால், இயக்குநர் சிங்கிதம் சீனிவாச ராவ் தனது நாற்பது ஆண்டுகால கனவாக உருவாக்கியுள்ள ‘சிங் கீதம்’ திரைப்படம் அந்த அரிய இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.
வரும் ஜூன் 11ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் வெளியாகவுள்ள இப்படத்தின் முன் வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னை, பிரசாத் லேப் தியேட்டரில் நேற்று காலையில் பிரம்மாண்டமாக நடைபெற்றது.
இந்த விழாவின் முக்கிய ஈர்ப்பாக கலந்துகொண்ட ‘உலக நாயகன்’ கமல்ஹாசன், சிங்கிதம் சீனிவாச ராவுடன் தன்னுடைய பல தசாப்தங்களைக் கடந்து வந்த நட்பையும் படைப்புப் பயணத்தையும் நினைவு கூர்ந்தார்.
“எனக்கு இருபது வயதாக இருந்தபோது சிங்கிதம் சார் இரண்டு கதைகளை என்னிடம் சொன்னார். அதில் ஒன்று ‘புஷ்பக விமானம்’ ஆனது. மற்றொரு கதை இன்று ‘சிங் கீதம்’ ஆக ரசிகர்களைச் சந்திக்க வருகிறது.
அப்போது கேட்ட கதையை, ஐம்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகு திரையில் பார்க்கும் வாய்ப்பு எனக்குக் கிடைத்துள்ளது. சில கதைகள் காலத்தை வெல்லும்; சிங்கிதம் சாரின் கதைகள் அப்படிப்பட்டவை.
இந்தப் படத்தை ராஜ்கமல் பிலிம்ஸ் தயாரித்திருந்தால் இன்னும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்திருக்கும். இந்தப் படத்தை நான் தயாரித்தது போலவே உணர்கிறேன்” என்று அவர் கூறியது, சிங்கிதம் மீது வைத்துள்ள மரியாதையையும் பாசத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்தியது.
காலம் மாறினாலும் சிந்தனை மாறாத படைப்பாளி சிங்கிதம் சீனிவாச ராவ் குறித்து பேசிய கமல்ஹாசன், “இன்றைய Gen-Z தலைமுறையினரைவிட கூட அவர் முன்னோக்கிச் சிந்திக்கிறார். அவருடைய ஆர்வமும் புதுமையும் இன்னும் குறையவில்லை” என்று பாராட்டினார்.
இந்நிகழ்வில் உரையாற்றிய சிங்கிதம் சீனிவாச ராவ், “இந்தப் படம் என் நாற்பது ஆண்டுகால கனவு. பலரிடம் இந்தக் கதையைப் பகிர்ந்திருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் அதை திரைப்படமாக்கும் வாய்ப்பை இறுதியில் நாக் அஸ்வின் மற்றும் வைஜயந்தி மூவிஸ் வழங்கினர். இந்தப் படத்தின் வெற்றிக்கும் பெருமைக்கும் முழு காரணம் அவர்கள்தான்” என்று நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன் கூறினார்.
இப்படத்தின் இசையமைப்பாளர் தேவி ஸ்ரீ பிரசாத், “சிங்கிதம் சாரின் பாராட்டு கிடைத்தது ஒரு ஆஸ்கர் விருது பெற்ற உணர்வைத் தருகிறது. வாழ்க்கையில் ஒருமுறை மட்டுமே கிடைக்கும் அரிய வாய்ப்பாக ‘சிங் கீதம்’ படத்தை நான் பார்க்கிறேன். வார்த்தைகளையே இசையாக மாற்றும் இந்த முயற்சி எனக்கு புதிய அனுபவமாக இருந்தது” என்றார்.
படத்தின் நாயகன் அயன், “சிங்கிதம் சீனிவாச ராவ் இயக்கிய படத்தின் கதாநாயகன் என்று என்னை வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் பெருமையாக அறிமுகப்படுத்திக் கொள்வேன்” என்று தெரிவித்தார்.
நடிகை அஹல்யா பம்ருவும், “சிங்கிதம் மற்றும் கமல்ஹாசன் போன்ற ஜாம்பவான்களுடன் ஒரே மேடையில் நிற்பது தனது கனவு நனவான தருணம்” என்று கூறினார்.
நாக் அஸ்வின் தயாரிப்பில், வைஜயந்தி மூவிஸ் மற்றும் ஸ்வப்னா சினிமா இணைந்து உருவாக்கியுள்ள இந்த ‘சிங் கீதம்’ திரைப்படத்திற்கு “ராக் ஸ்டார்” தேவி ஸ்ரீபிரசாத் இசையமைத்துள்ளார்.
ஏற்கனவே வெளியான டீசர் மற்றும் பாடல்கள் ரசிகர்களிடையே நல்ல வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றுள்ள நிலையில், இந்தப் படம் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் ஒரு புதிய முயற்சியாக அமையும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
“40 ஆண்டுகளாக மனதில் இருந்த ஒரு கனவு, இன்று திரையில் பாடலாக மாறியிருக்கிறது; அந்த கனவை ரசிகர்கள் எவ்வாறு வரவேற்கப் போகிறார்கள்?” என்ற கேள்வியுடன் இந்த ‘சிங் கீதம்’ திரைப்படம் வரும் ஜூன் 11ஆம் தேதி திரையரங்குகளுக்கு வருகிறது.
It is rare for a film to create such excitement even before its release. However, veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s long-cherished dream project, ‘Sing Geetham,’ has managed to do just that. The grand pre-release event of the film, which is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 11, was held in Chennai amidst much fanfare.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of Kamal Haasan, who reflected on his decades-long association and creative journey with Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.
“When I was 20 years old, Singeetam sir narrated two stories to me. One of them eventually became Pushpaka Vimana. The other story is now arriving on screen as Sing Geetham. To witness a story I heard nearly five decades ago finally becoming a film is a special experience. Some stories stand the test of time, and Singeetam sir’s stories belong to that category,” Kamal Haasan said, drawing thunderous applause from the audience.
Expressing his admiration for the legendary filmmaker, Kamal added, “I genuinely feel this film should have been produced by Raj Kamal Films International. Watching this project come to life feels as though I am one of its producers.”
Praising Singeetam’s timeless creativity, he remarked, “Even today, Singeetam sir is ahead of the Gen-Z generation when it comes to innovation and imagination. His passion for cinema and his eagerness to experiment remain unchanged.”
Speaking at the event, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao described Sing Geetham as the fulfillment of a dream he had nurtured for four decades.
“This film is my 40-year dream. I have narrated this story to many people over the years, but it was Nag Ashwin and Vyjayanthi Movies who ultimately gave me the opportunity to bring it to life. The credit for making this dream a reality belongs entirely to them,” he said emotionally.
Music composer Devi Sri Prasad shared his excitement about being part of the project. “Receiving appreciation from Singeetam sir feels like winning an Oscar. Sing Geetham is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. Turning every word into music was a unique challenge and an unforgettable experience,” he said.
Lead actor Ayaan expressed his gratitude, saying, “For the rest of my life, I will proudly introduce myself as the hero of a film directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.”
Actress Ahalya Bamroo described working with the legendary filmmaker as a dream come true and said it was an honor to share the stage with icons like Kamal Haasan and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.
Produced by Nag Ashwin under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, Sing Geetham features music by “Rockstar” Devi Sri Prasad. The film’s teaser and songs have already received a positive response, raising expectations for what is being described as one of the most unique cinematic experiments in recent times.
As the film gears up for its worldwide release on June 11, one question remains:
Can a dream that waited 40 years finally strike a chord with today’s audience?
The answer will unfold when Sing Geetham reaches theatres across the globe.
