தமிழ் சினிமாவில் ஹாரர் திரைப்படங்களுக்கு எப்போதும் தனி வரவேற்பு இருந்து வருகிறது. அந்த வரிசையில், கிராமத்து பின்னணியிலும், மர்ம சம்பவங்களின் நிழலிலும் உருவாகியுள்ள புதிய ஹாரர் திரில்லர் திரைப்படம் ‘டார்க் ஜெயிண்ட்’.
இப்படம் வருகிற ஜூன் 11 ஆம் தேதி உலகம் முழுவதும் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாக உள்ளது. தமிழகம் முழுவதும் இப்படத்தை ஹரி உத்ரா நிறுவனம் வெளியிடுகிறது.
இயக்குநர் கே.எஸ். கிஷன் இயக்கியுள்ள இந்த திரைப்படம், ஒரு கிராமத்தில் நடைபெற்ற சில உண்மை சம்பவங்களை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு, அதனுடன் கற்பனையை இணைத்து உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. வழக்கமான பேய் கதைகளை தாண்டி, மனிதர்களுக்குள் மறைந்திருக்கும் மர்மங்களையும், வெளியில் சொல்லப்படாத சம்பவங்களையும் மையமாகக் கொண்டு இப்படம் உருவாகியுள்ளதாக படக் குழு கூறுகிறது.
‘டார்க் ஜெயிண்ட்’ திரைப்படத்தை பயோவன் கிரியேஷனிசம் நிறுவனம் சார்பில் ஓய்வு பெற்ற ராணுவ வீரர் லோகேஸ்வரன் தயாரித்துள்ளார். இப்படத்தில் நடிகை சோனியா அகர்வால், அயலி மதன், ஜோவிட்டா லிவிங்ஸ்டன், அமுதவாணன், லிவிங்ஸ்டன் மற்றும் இயக்குனர் பாக்கியராஜ் உள்ளிட்டோர் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்துள்ளனர்.
படத்தின் பாடல்களுக்கு கவிஞர் கங்கை அமரன் வரிகளை எழுதியுள்ள நிலையில், விக்னேஷ் ராஜா இசையமைத்துள்ளார். கிராமத்து சூழல், இரவின் மர்மம் மற்றும் பதற்றமான காட்சிகளுடன், ரசிகர்களுக்கு வித்தியாசமான ஹாரர் அனுபவத்தை தரும் வகையில் படம் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
படம் குறித்து இயக்குநர் கே.எஸ். கிஷன் கூறுகையில், “ஹாரர் படம் எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்த பிறகு, அதன் பின்னணியை முழுமையாக அறிந்து கொள்ள பல ஊர்களுக்குச் சென்று ஆய்வு செய்தேன். அப்போது பல அதிர்ச்சிகரமான சம்பவங்கள் தெரியவந்தன. மனிதர்கள் மத்தியில் மறைந்து கிடக்கும் சில உண்மைகள் என்னை மிகவும் அதிர்ச்சியடைய வைத்தன. அவற்றை நேரடியாக சொல்ல முடியாத சூழல் இருந்ததால், அதிலிருந்து ஒரு சிறிய கருவை மட்டும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு இந்த படத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ளேன். உலகம் அறியாத பல மர்மங்கள் இன்னும் இருக்கின்றன. ஜூன் 11-ம் தேதி வெளியாகும் ‘டார்க் ஜெயிண்ட்’ ரசிகர்களுக்கு ஒரு திருப்திகரமான ஹாரர் அனுபவத்தை தரும்..” என்றார்.

Horror films have always enjoyed a special place among Tamil cinema audiences, and joining that list is the upcoming horror thriller ‘Dark Giant’, which is set against a rural backdrop filled with mystery and suspense. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 11 and will be distributed across Tamil Nadu by Hari Uthra Films.
Directed by K.S. Kishan, the movie is said to be inspired by certain real-life incidents that took place in a village, blended with fictional elements to create an engaging screenplay. Moving beyond conventional ghost stories, the film reportedly explores hidden human secrets and mysterious events that are rarely spoken about openly.
‘Dark Giant’ is produced by retired army officer Lokeshwaran under the banner of Biovan Creationism. The film features Sonia Agarwal, Ayali Madhan, Jovita Livingston, Amudhavanan, Livingston, and director Bhagyaraj in prominent roles.
The songs for the film have been penned by veteran lyricist Gangai Amaran, while Vignesh Raja has composed the music. With its eerie village setting, intense night sequences, and suspense-filled narrative, the film promises to offer audiences a fresh and gripping horror experience.
Speaking about the film, director K.S. Kishan said, “After deciding to make a horror film, I travelled to several villages to understand the subject deeply. During my research, I came across many shocking incidents that made me realize there are aspects of this world that people rarely know about. I had the opportunity to interact with many individuals and hear unbelievable stories. However, presenting everything directly could create several issues, so I took only a small core idea from those experiences and developed this film. There are still many hidden truths in this world that remain untold. I believe ‘Dark Giant’, releasing on June 11, will give audiences a truly satisfying horror experience.”
Blending mystery, suspense, and elements inspired by real incidents, ‘Dark Giant’ is expected to attract the attention of horror movie lovers.
